Homeland Security

Homeland security covers elements such as territory, natural resources and infrastructure. It refers to a state in which territorial integrity, national unity, frontier and border, territorial airspace, territorial sea, and maritime rights and interests are free from infringement or threats, and the capability to maintain a sustained state of security.

The foremost task in safeguarding national security is to safeguard national unity and territorial integrity. Our country will never allow any part of its territories to be separated from us. Homeland security is the foundation of a country and a prerequisite for its survival and development. It is related to the security of the whole country and people's wellbeing.

The core mission of safeguarding the homeland security of our country is to strengthen border defence, maritime defence, and air defence, and take all necessary defence and control measures to protect the security of territorial land, inland waters, territorial seas, and territorial airspace and safeguard the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.

As Hong Kong citizens, we must resolutely oppose all activities that will split the Motherland, support the fight against three forces, namely terrorism, separatism, and extremism, and against the "independence of Hong Kong", resolutely prevent the "independence of Tibet" and "independence of Xinjiang", and steadfastly thwart any "independence of Taiwan" plots. We should remain vigilant at all times to prevent invasion and infiltration by external forces, make every effort to safeguard Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability, and uphold state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
