On 1 July 2015, the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted at the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress, and 15 April each year was designated as the National Security Education Day.

The National Security Education Day aims at raising public awareness of national security, creating a positive atmosphere of safeguarding national security, enhancing the capacity to fend off national security risks, deepening public understanding of the Constitution, the Basic Law and national security, and fostering a sense of national identity.

We hope that on this special day of 15 April, the public will have a better understanding of the importance of national security to the country, to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and to every Hong Kong citizen, perform their civic duty and work together to safeguard national security.
The logo design consists of the number '415', a red star and rays of light.
The number '4' resembles a person standing upright raising his hand for taking oath. It shows the person's determination to safeguard national security and proactive assumption of responsibility towards safeguarding national security.
The red star shines above the number, meaning that under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, national security is fully safeguarded and the bright future drives people to forge ahead.
The number '415' means that 15 April is The National Security Education Day.
The slogan 'National Security Education' is placed under the logo in the form of a pedestal, implying that national security education for all is unshakable.
