Introduction to the Hong Kong Customs College Open Day
The Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department has been playing an important role in safeguarding national security. On the National Security Education Day on 15 April 2021, it opened its Hong Kong Customs College to the public to showcase its capability to fend off national security risks, and deepen public understanding of its work in relation to safeguarding national security from different perspectives. The open day started with a Chinese-style flag raising ceremony and foot drill performances by a guard of honour. Other activities included national security exhibitions, demonstrations by Customs detector dogs, contraband detection virtual reality experience sessions, visits to the Professional Development Training Block and outdoor firing range, displays of professional equipment such as firearms and weapons, etc.
